Just after saying goodbye to Dollar, almost the very next day, Xiao Pei and I took a taxi to Ganjingzi District to pick up a cat. It was a three-year-old male Ragdoll. We heard that the previous owner had to change jobs and couldn’t take the cat to the new place, so they had to find someone to adopt him. It’s hard to believe such an excuse—where could they be going that they couldn’t even bring a little cat? When we arrived, the previous owner hadn’t returned yet, so Xiao Pei and I waited downstairs, shivering from the cold and muttering to ourselves. When we finally went upstairs, it was a tiny single room, and the place was a mess—it didn’t look like they were moving at all. Suddenly, the cat jumped out from somewhere and clung to our feet. I was a bit surprised; he was much bigger than I had imagined, with a solid feel to him, and he looked like a “little princess.” After a few pleasantries, we took the cat and left. The cat didn’t seem to miss his previous owner at all. I wonder what it would be like if he were to leave us, but of course, I don’t want to think about that, and I’ll never know.

Recently, Xiao Pei and I have been really into the anime SPY×FAMILY. My favorite character is Yor 😄, while Xiao Pei likes Anya🥜. In the end, we named the cat Bond, after the pet of the protagonist family, a Great Pyrenees with the ability to foresee the future.
